What can I do to help me stand out when applying to college?

So i am currently in the 10th grade and I am starting to narrow my choices for colleges down to about 3, my choices are Syracuse University, Vanderbilt University, and Purdue University. Besides academic and SAT factors, what things or classes can I do or take to help myself stand out on a college application.
