Could I get into Upenn?
My hope is to get into the university of Pennsylvania. I want to be a nurse. I am a freshman, and right now I'm just looking at schools that I like. I have been to UPENN. I loved it. By the time I apply I hope to have- 4.0-3.8 GPA, 28-32 on the ACT, 300-400 HOURS of volunteer/charity work, to be in HOSA ( I am currently in it), and in the Spanish club. I currently have a 3.8 and I'm honestly not happy with it but I have 3 weeks left of school and the classe I got a B in is far behind me. My school doesn't offer AP since the no child left behind, the only one they have left is Algebra which I'm not good at and the only thing that class would do for me is drop my gpa- however next year I really plan to work hard so I might be able to get an A. I know that by the time I apply I can het at least one really good recommendation from my health science class- which I will be taking all classes offered for and even a college course of medical terminology next year! I will also participate in an actual nursing home and help the people who live there. Hopefully I can get the intern class my senior year at a clinic. Do you think with those I could get in, I hope to do a ED to help my chances. I don't want to be asking my counselor for her to tell me its too late to try my senior year. What could I do or add to help my chances. I could join the band however I don't know a instrument other than a few years of violin. If you've been to UPENN what's your advice, if given the second chance would you return? I am also looking at vanderbilt and Pittsburgh university for nursing.
